Bonnie Gilgallon
Bonnie Gilgallon is a broadcast journalist, interviewer, and stage performer who arrived in the Coachella Valley from Washington, D.C. 16 years ago.
For many years valley residents heard her daily news reports on KNWZ radio. She also created and hosted a weekend entertainment show, “The Desert Scene” on the same station. Guests included local celebrities such as Pat Rizzo, Kaye Ballard, and the late Jackie Lee Houston, as well as visiting stars like Debbie Reynolds, Frank Sinatra, Jr., & Linda Ronstadt.
A multiple Desert Theatre League award-winning actress, Bonnie’s favorite stage roles include Miss Mona in “Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”, and Hattie in “Laundry & Bourbon”. In 2013 she was the very first Marilyn Monroe in Frank Furino’s original play, “Marilyn, Madness and Me”. That same year she became a theatre reviewer for CV Independent.
A jazz/pop vocalist, Bonnie can often be heard at local clubs like Melvyn’s. In 2001 she starred in a cabaret show, “Bonnie G. and the Blondes” at the Palm Springs Racquet Club.
For 4 years she was the host of “Desert Living and Entertainment” a television program showcasing valley businesses.
Bonnie is a member of AFTRA/SAG, Palm Springs Women in Film & Television, Media Mavens and Women Leaders Forum. In 2006 she received Board approval for a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
